Hannah Le

I enjoyed every single day of the NZ Autumn workshop. We were taken to stunningly beautiful locations, some of which are a bit off the beaten paths and so well worth the effort getting there. It feels like I have learnt so much about photography after just 6 days, thanks to the one on one coaching by Rich and Jim who were very patient, also tips from fellow travellers in the group. Accomodations were comfortable, some with amazing views. Didn't expect great food, but got it every day. New friendship formed during the short trip is another bonus. I was asked for constructive criticism, couldn't find anything to criticise. It was a great trip. I defintely would travel with Rich and Jim again.

Had a great time during the NZ trip with Capture Workshops! Rich and Jim were gracious hosts and picked out some excellent locations for the group to shoot. The trip was a good pace with plenty of laughs along the way and many places covered. Great food options too!

I've recently returned from a 4 day tour of the Great Ocean Road with Richard Stanley & Jim Picot of Capture Landscape Photography Workshops.
The tour not only met, but far exceeded every expectation i had!

1) The locations were absolutely stunning
2) The balance between tuition & allowing us to 'have a go'... perfect!
3) The ratio of field work to Lightroom tuition... spot on!
4) The instruction was clear, tailored to my level & always keenly given
5) Most importantly, both Richard & Jim were brilliant company (as was fellow tog, Sean Neil)... vital when you're spending from before sunrise to after sunset together everyday!

(Crikey... they even put up with my wacky sense of humour!)

I will be joining these guys again at the earliest opportunity.
I've attached an image from our tour as a location example, and a testament to the level they helped me achieve!

Recently back from a fantastic week on the New Zealand Autumn Colours with Rich and Jim, and just want to say a massive thanks for a great tour. Got to the rights spots at the best times, with plenty of opportunities to bag a bunch of great shots from so many varied locations. Great for all levels - whether you're just starting out with a DSLR or been at it a while. Wouldn't hesitate to do another tour with Rich and Jim.

Wow! What an amazing week of fun, learning and photography. I have just returned from the 2018 Autumn Colours tour of New Zealand and had a fantastic time. Thanks to Richard and Jim for sharing your knowledge freely - the photography locations were fantastic and the tour group had lots of laughs along the way. The week I spent in New Zealand with Jim and Richard last September was a whirlwind of photographic opportunities.
Both Jim and Richard were quick to offer assistance to everyone as needed.
I had such a great time that I am considering taking another trip with them when time and work permits.

The recent Great Ocean Road Photography Tour with Capture Photo Tours was an awesome experience. Visiting and photographing some stunning locations with the expert assistance and guidance of Jim and Rich, a lot of fun and the chance to learn as well.
I had a great time on the tour and look forward to putting some new techniques into practice and shooting with Jim and Rich again in the future.
A tour like this is a great way to develop your photographic and post processing skills while having some fun.

Many thanks to Richard and Jim for a fantastic four days photographing stunning seascapes around Narooma and Bergamui on the NSW South Coast. As a less experienced amateur photographer, I really learned a lot about various aspects of photography including composition and long exposure techniques to name a few. The class was well planned and both Richard and Jim never hesitated to provide helpful and clear instruction. Besides that they are both a lot of fun and great company. Once again, thanks very much Richard and Jim.

I would like to say a big thank you to Capture Workshops for the recent Uluru, Kata-Jutu and Kings Canyon photo tour.
I thoroughly enjoyed both Richard and Jim's company and instruction. I learnt quite a bit from their approach to Landscape Photography most especially using, handling and setting up Lee filters.
It was great to have two very attentive and keen Photographers to assist and make recommendations while out in the field. Apart from the Photography I found both of them excellent company making the experience highly enjoyable and I had a great time plus I managed to visit, enjoy and appreciate the excellent travel locations in comfort and I hope to do another one of their listed tours in the future one day.

Tasmania Group

We recently took the opportunity to attend a 4 day photography workshop in Tasmania with Capture Landscape Photography workshops. In fact, we were the first group to do an interstate workshop with Jim and Richard.
Our base was in Bicheno north-eastern Tasmania, with access to the stunningly beautiful beaches and rainforests in that region.
The workshop was extremely well planned and executed. Accommodation was excellent in a fully furnished 3 bedroom holiday house, with plenty of room to spread out, critique our photos and coaching in the use of Lightroom. Delicious meals were taken at award winning cafes and we always had plenty of snacks and bottled water on hand.
We travelled in two four-wheel drives, visiting beautiful and sometimes remote areas for our photo shoots, such as Bay of Fires, taking advantage of both sunrise and sunset.
Jim and Richard are wonderful teachers and with three of us on the workshop we got plenty of individual attention. They are fun to be around, relaxed and generous about sharing their knowledge, expertise and prodigious talent. I am a relatively inexperienced beginner and found both Jim and Richard very encouraging, patient and willing to spend the time to explain and help me take a better shot. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent as a group - plenty of laughs, learning and (for me) the igniting of a passion to take great photos.
We hope to join Jim and Richard again sometime for another adventure in the not too distant future.

I recently did the 2018 Autumn Colours New Zealand Tour with Rich and Jim. There was a good mix of experienced & beginner photographers. Both Jim & Rich were easy going & patient teachers. We visited some amazing locations at the perfect time of day to achieve some great photos. The accommodations were comfortable & fellow travellers fun & easy to get along with. I am hoping to make it onto another one of their tours in the future.

I participated in the Capture Landscape Photography Workshop to New Zealand in 2015. As an amateur landscape photographer, I had a major learning curve but this was eased by the professional approach of Richard and Jim. They were supportive, knowledgeable, helpful and good fun. The trip was well organised with the Itinerary covering as many photogenic locations as one could fit in the available time. The travel arrangements were efficient and the accommodation was comfortable. The group dynamics of the Workshop participants worked well. Even though I lacked some of the professional equipment, Richard and Jim still made sure I could make the most with what I had and I managed some great shots. We also had some time using Lightroom and this has helped me with post-editing and image filing. Richard has also advised me post-trip with the equipment required to improve my images and I look forward to using this new gear in the future. I have no hesitation in recommending Capture Landscape Photography Workshops and plan to attend others in the future.

A great weekend discovering new locations around Nelson Bay in the Mid North Coast.
Jim and Rich did a great job of engaging with every member of the group, and led us on five photo shoots over two days / nights, along with some excellent processing tips in between. Learned quite a bit and had lots of fun.
Great experience and excellent value. Hopefully we’ll do it again soon.

Great weekend guys. Thanks!
